These paper witch hats are perfect for trinkets, treasures and treats! I saw a mass-produced version of these in a store the other day and thought they’d be so easy to DIY. They’re great as party favors for Halloween or for kids to give out as class gifts. The best part is that these can be made quickly since all you need is paper and glue. I’m using leftover paper that I have lying around, mostly vintage wallpaper and gift wrap scraps that I’ve found over the years. Download the hand drawn template that I made for the witch hats below under the material list!

Materials:
– scrap paper
– thicker paper (like cardstock) to add to the brim
– tissue paper
– glue
Instructions to make witch hat party favors
Step 1: Cut out your pieces
Download the printable template above to use as a guide to cut out your pieces. The hat consists of three pieces- the crown, the brim and a circle to close the bottom opening. Print at 100% scale when printing. The hat can be adjusted in size by increasing or decreasing the percent scale. Cut out your fabric using your template. If the paper you’re using for the brim is thin you can glue cardstock to the underside as a backing.

Step 2: How to make the brim
Draw a circle in the center of the brim, making sure that it is smaller in diameter than the bottom of your cone when it is assembled. Cut the smaller circle out of the center of the brim. If you’re using the template it includes a guide for this circle.
Step 3: How to make the crown
Assemble the crown by overlapping the paper edges (the straight edge will overlap the tab on the opposite side) and glue them together.

Step 4: How to assemble the witch hat
Assemble the hat by glueing the crown to the brim. Place your treat, treasure or trinket inside of the hat!

Cut out a piece of tissue paper that is larger than the bottom hole and glue it over the opening to seal it.
